Master Trader Breakdown: The Insider's Edge to Smart Shorting
Most traders dive into shorting extended stocks or ETFs, thinking the upward climb can’t last forever. They assume that “overvalued” means “ready to drop.” But here’s the hard truth: guessing tops in an uptrend is a fool’s game. Without the right tools and strategies, you’ll fall into the trap of false setups and losing money unnecessarily.
So, how do you separate true topping patterns from bullish consolidations?
Discover the Game-Changer
With the Master Trader Strategies (MTS) criteria, you’ll learn to spot high-probability setups and avoid rookie mistakes. Our proven methods help you identify when the stock or market is truly turning.
For bearish setups, you need a Price Void—areas with minimal support to let the stock move fluidly downward. Pair this with advanced pattern recognition, and you’re set for success.

Real Profits, Real Strategies: A Short Trade Breakdown
Let’s dive into an actual Master Trader Short Trade that showcases why our strategies work.
The Setup:
In late October, TT exploded higher, breaking through resistance and establishing a powerful bullish uptrend. By November, it consolidated above and into its rising 20-MA. Most traders would see this and think the rally was unstoppable. But not Master Traders.
Here’s what tipped us off:
- Failed Breakouts: Multiple attempts to break higher ended in failure.
- The Telltale Signs: On 12/8, TT formed a minor topping tail (TT) and a red candlestick, closing below the prior closing bars.
- The Final Signal: On 12/9, a bearish Wide Range Bar (-WRB) confirmed selling pressure had taken over.
The stock then consolidated into a bearish flag-like pattern, staying weak. This was the golden moment — a textbook continuation Breakdown setup.
Why It Worked:
TT’s rapid surge in November left a big Price Void beneath it. With no significant support, the path for a swing trade lower was wide open.
Trade Execution:
Subscribers were advised to short under the prior bar’s low where shown. Once in the trade, we used our signature management techniques, trailing pivots/bars and monitoring price action. The result? A smooth, rapid move lower and $431 in profit — simple, quick and repeatable.
