Technical Analysis is about determining the odds of prices following through in a direction or being contained in an area — being directionless.

The majority will use a combination of indicators and technical tools to determine this. Master Traders keep the decision making process simple by using price action alone.

 

Indicators are a derivative of price action.  Many falsely believe they are needed to determine the trend and turning points. This information is actually right on the chart for all to see.

Which raises the question:  Why use multiple pieces of information to make a decision when only one is needed?

When we view the price action of an index, stock or any trading instrument that can be charted, the arrangement of the prices will tell us if there is certainty or uncertainty among the participants trading it.
